DAY 9: Take it One Day at a time AND Tempation Tuesday

Hey yall!

Finally sitting down for the evening!  If I can make time, I know you can make time.  Today I worked, taught the after school program, taught a private art lesson, dropped by store for some ground turkey (... and what not for a delicious and nutritious meal that I will be sharing in a few paragraphs), worked out, showered and now here I am!!!

I am noticing that I am getting stronger with my push ups and not getting tired as quick so if you are doing any strenuous workout program or INSANITY just stick with it!  It is gonna pay off!  I did PURE CARDIO today which is a beast! For real man!  I actually like the frog jumps and football drills!  When Sean T. (the instructor) says, "That shi* is bananas yo" he was RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think my dog even felt my pain...after I got done..he quickly drank LOTS of water hahaha!

Today I had my shakes for breakfast and lunch, my snacks were apple, a few mulit-seed crackers and salmon pinwheels, and almonds.  BUT HERE IS THE BEST THING I ATE TODAY......

TURKEY CHILI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was so delicious and It was healthy.  Now this is a great meal for those who are not so sure of "healthy"  meals.  So many plus sides to it....

  • Fast
  • Easy
  • Not too many ingredients
  • Not expensive
If you don't like it spicy, maybe cut down a little of the cayenne pepper or something but it was just right for me!  I also kept all the ingredients the same except when I put in one pound of turkey it didn't seem like any meat was in there so I added an extra pound of meat.  My bf was eating too so know he needed more meat.  Also, instead of sour cream I used Greek Yogurt plain and it tastes practically the same.  If you're not that adventurous maybe try a low-fat sour cream but honestly don't knock the Greek yogurt until you try it!  Instead of corn bread or a roll I just ate it with half of a whole wheat english muffin. It also gives the nutrition information per serving which does not go over 190 calories.  I kept my portions good but really wanted more, but I am just going to take it too lunch tomorrow!

So here is the link so you can try it out!  It is one of my favorite recipe sites, All Recipes.com http://allrecipes.com/recipe/simple-turkey-chili/detail.aspx

Turkey Chili in the pot

The toppings! Cilantro, Red Onion, Green Onions, Avocado, and Part Skim Mozzarella cheese.  Only added a pinch of cheese

See, only a pinch of cheese! lol! Hard to do but I did it

Close up, can't you smell it! It was deliciou

I hope that you try this meal soon! It was AMAZING!!!!!!!

Here is a picture a reader sent that looks delicious.  It is BLACK BEAN SOUP and I believe the recipe can be found in the Meatless Meals link under my helpful websites!

TEMPTATION TUESDAY: I am seriously tempted by Gordon Biersch pizza, garlic bread and cheese right now but I AM NOT GOING TO GIVE IN!!!!! I want results!

Hope you all had a great day and keep me posted with any great websites, workouts, snacks, meals, etc!!!

Email me at wymichelleblogs@gmail.com to share photos and recipes you want posted or have a question for the group!

Until next time.....park further away at the store...The extra steps could go a long way!  Take care

  1. Ahhh yes the pure cardio...nonstop action the entire CD, wait til you get to month 2! The Max Cardio vids are killer but you'll love it. I too noticed the increased strength and endurance. I must tell you it doesn't really get easier (it does but keep reading) b/c as you get stronger you start to push harder. Sometimes you might feel yourself tired at the same spots b/c you are digging deeper. Keep up the good work and lets get the results together. Motivation is contagious, love the food pics btw!

  2. Temptation Tuesday!!!! Sooo, my biggest temptations are sweets (I'm drooling just thinking about them). I'm the type of person who craves something sweet everyday. If my sweettooth isn't fixed, I become really cranky and irritable. But since you've started this blog, I've been trying to stay strong like you and hold out on sweets. I'm proud to say I'm 4 days clean :). However, tonight's been rough and I'm really starting to feel withdrawal symptoms (I'm sounding like an addict). So question, do you know of any "healthy" sweets, that I can eat that will satisfy my cravings but won't add on the pounds. :). Thanks for any ideas.

  4. Kamaria!! I feel you on that! I love a good ice cream sundae from braums lol! I am the same way about bread and wine as you are about sweets! But to answer your question...I have read a piece of fruit or frozen mangoes can fix a sweet tooth. I think yogurt could be a good fix! Also, I will upload a picture but I baked an apple by cutting it in Half and sprinkling cinnamon on it and it was really good! Felt like I had a mini apple pie without the crust. Also, on my helpful website I have uploaded a website with sweet treats for 50 calories or less to help take away your guilt. For instance, it gives
Some examples like low calorie cereal snack, raspberries, edy's all natural fruit bar popsicle, low calorie ice cream treat, jello, high fiber fruit like a peach, sugar free baskin robbins hard candies, sweet and salty popcorn and the list goes on! Lol! Hope this helps! I will keep an eye out for you for other things as well! Thanks for your temptation Tuesday confession!

  5. I too am a sweet freak. I could eat a bag chocolate everyday if I knew I would gain any weight. What I do now to curb my gravings is sugar free gum. I keep it with me at all times and when a craving a pop a stick in. The sweetness satisifies my craving and the chewing makes my mouth tired and not want to eat. May sound silly but give it a try. If you can't do sugar free try some with sugar as a start then ween yourself into sugar free. I'm telling you its a life saver.
