I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that it is Friday! It has been the longest week ever....can you relate? Probably so. Well, I began to think about my goals with this journey and I think that it is very important to have goals during a process like this. Ask yourself what type of results do you REALLY want.....we can say, "oh I want to lose 10 pounds" but are you really doing the work. You got to really put time into your exercise routine as well as your meal planning. My goal is to lose about 15-20 pounds and to have an overall nice toned body and feel more energized and make healthy choices everyday....(unless its a cheat day or meal...even Oxygen said you need atleast 2 or 3 once a month...happy to see they backed up my bro-in-laws advice. You will go crazy if you don't, probably indulge in ice cream, burgers, or whatever your weakness is lol!
So here are the steps I took before I decided to take this journey.
Step 1: Make the conscious decision to really put my all into getting healthier through clean eating as well as regular exerice.
Step 2: Figure out a workout plan or regime that works best for you and your schedule.
Step 3: Find some healthier meals and snacks that you could truly see yourself creating and making with the time you have allotted in your daily life to prevent from turning back to the "dark side".
Step 4: You don't have to have an accountability partner (I made that word up...I think...unless I read it somewhere) but it does help. Someone to work out with or just someone who will call and check what you been eating or if you have been in the gym. I have two, Shakema and Katrina. I also call my big sis for advice when I need it since she does very well with being a clean eater and being consistent in the gym. You got to have SUPPORT!!!!
I think these things have truly kept me on track as well as YOU ALL. My blog makes me want to be a better person and not give up since I have so many eyes on me and what I am doing to accomplish this 'resolution'.
MY DAY
Today was a good day! I woke up with a little more energy than regular and had a lot of pep in my step! My students even noticed since I was being sillier than regular with them (gotta love the kids). I started my day off with green tea and a shake. For lunch I had pan sauteed tilapia which cooked in a small amount of olive oil, seat salt and pepper, spinach salad and brown rice. I am watching my portions so it wasn't a large amount of rice but I did have a good amount of salad about two cups probably. I had some salmon pinwheels and fruit for a snack as well as hummus and fresh carrots! I had a shake for dinner and for snack had carrots and hummus again and two boiled eggs. NOW I WILL BE HONEST....today I had a small glass of red wine. Not the good ole' Happy Hour, Thank God its Friday glass of wine...but more of a " I just want a lil' swig to relax from my long week'" type glass of wine. Mainly due to my workout today being so HARD CORE!!!
SEE...It was only a small amount!!! |
I had Pure Cardio today and it was my toughest challenge so far. I made it all the way through but had to rest more and take an extra water break a couple of times to complete today's workout! But I made it and I did my best and that is what is going to help get me the results I want!!! Any of you doing Insanity right now??? What exercise do you hate the most????? Today, I hated the push ups and then jump in the air workout. I don't remember what he called it but it should be called "death jumps" lol!
So that's all for today! Gonna finally catch up on Vampire Diaries and Grey's Anatomy since I had no time to watch TV this week. Enjoy your weekend everyone and stayed tuned for some recipes on tomorrow's blog!
A FEW TIPS FROM OXYGEN MAGAZINE
I found these very helpful.....
- Omega 3's help relieve pain from sore worked out muscles
- High protein diets with consistent exercise allows one to enhance their fat loss significantly
- Basalmic Vinegar burns belly fat with acetic acid.....think swim wear people!
Find Omega 3's in fish, such as salmon, tuna, and halibut, other seafood, some plants, and nut oils.
Alright foks...until next time!!! Try a new exercise! Try a new food! Enjoy your Friday!
