Day 18: Let's Blend

Hey yall!

Today is going to be a short and sweet post!  I am exhausted!  But feeling good!

I have been doing small workouts during some of my lunch time which has been really fun.  We had a staff meeting today and they had pop, rotel dip with tortilla chips and white chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles!  OMG...I really wanted that pretzel the rest I could easy resist.  I am glad they had veggies and cucumber sandwiches though so I could partake in the yumminess!

I came home and went right to doing my INSANITY workout for the day!  I am telling you PURE CARDIO AND CARDIO ABS...is the toughest one for me!  I have more endurance which is great but it is a strenuous workout!  I did have a small glass of wine today, not even 1/2 a cup though.  Just a little to enjoy with my pasta!

TODAYS MENU:

Breakfast: Oatmeal and Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness drink.
Snack: Carrots and hummus
Lunch:Healthy Cobb Salad and one tilapia fillet and Cranberry Sparkler
Snack: Veggies and cucumber sandwiches and tangerines (staff meeting food)
Post-Workout Snack: 1 Boiled Egg and blackberries
Dinner: Turkey spaghetti (use your left overs) and brussel sprouts.

I have been wondering on how to add some pre and post workout drinks or even use shakes/smoothies for breakfast sometimes.  I wanted healthy choices so here is a great website to view with shakes that are good for you and include veggies, fruit or a combo so you can get all your nutrients in your meals.  It is from the website FIT SUGAR so please check it out if you want some new ideas in this area.  Below I put a few links to some of the smoothies that stood out to me.  It helps save you time as well if you don't want to browse the entire article on smoothies.  Most of the recipes give you the nutrition information as well which is also handy!

Let me know if you try one, I am going to try some next week when I need to hit the store again.  Also, be sure to check out the new tabs: About Me and Grocery List.  The grocery list has a printer friendly button attached the the page so you can easily print out a grocery list that will be beneficial to your healthy lifestyle!  Of course, you can add or take away as you see fit.  Let me know if you have some good ideas for additions to the list!  We are in this together!

Well until next time folks, use this weekend for reflection and really think about something you can do to better your life or even sit back and read a book you have been wanting to read!!!

  1. Proud of you sis... You've really cut the carbs; do you get headaches during the day?

  2. Hey Bro! I was so happy to see your comment! Thanks so much!!! I have cut the carbs because If I get some I tend to go over board and eat too much of them. I love bread lol. I am going to try to incorporate them more in a month or so but I have been having whole wheat English muffins from time to time. I haven't had any headaches. I figured I was getting some carbs from veggies but I am going to start eating some sweet potatoes too for a starch. Any advice with my carbs???
