Day 3: Keep PUSHING!!!

Heeeeeeeeey Yall!!!!

Man, I know it is only the third day and I am still motivated but I wish results would come quicker!  I know it takes time to start seeing results but I WANT THEM NOW!!!!!!  Sorry, I had a moment.  Anyway...hope your day was good.  My day was pretty good BUT very looooooooooooooooong!

So ummmmmm I woke up very very VERY sore so no run this morning.  I felt like i had been hit by a truck...LITERALLY!!!!!!  I stuck with my food today but I found myself getting bored with my snacks.  When you go from looking forward to preparing delicious yummy meals to eating shakes and healthier basic food it kind of sucks the happiness out of it for me.  So what is a girl to do...I decided to find some snacks that may taste yummy but healthy too.  I will soon be looking for interesting meals too (I will be sure to fill you in when I start getting that done).  I really wanted to break and have a glass or even a sip of wine but my inner  voice told me to wait until the weekend when I really deserve it!

So here is a little bit about my day....

TEMPTATION # 1 - The cafeteria was serving grilled cheese and veggie soup today!  I so wanted to indulge in the warm, buttery toasted cheesy deliciousness but what did I do.......POUT...walked into the teacher's lounge and made my shake for lunch.  I was proud but MAAAAAANNNNNN I wanted that grilled cheese.

TEMPTATION #2 - As I left from teaching a private art lesson, I was hungry for a snack and didn't want the apple I had I wanted to pull in to the McDonald's and get a medium fry...fresh and hot!  But what did I do....I kept driving and ate my apple!  So if you face that temptation just thing about your goal or how hard you worked out the day before because it does work.  This is a true test and it takes a lot of will power, dedication and determination!!!

Today's Menu consisted of my two shakes, apples, fruit and nut bar, AND a delicious new snack I found on WEB MD's 27 Healthy Snacks for 100 calories or under.  Below is a picture of the yummy, sinful tasting treat: smoked salmon and low fat cream cheese to create a salmon pin wheel.  I added chopped green onion to give it a little pop and ate it with my other new yummy find: Multi-Seed Crackers by Crunchmaster.  All you do is spread a light layer of that cream cheese on the salmon and roll it up with chopped scallions or without.  You only need two layers of the smoked salmon.  It said you could do a tablespoon but i did less than that so I made it less than 100 calories!!! It tasted so good I thought I was doing bad but only eating two was tough because I wanted more. YES...i know it is three on the plate but I cut one of them in half lol so I felt like I had more lol!

SALMON PIN WHEELS

This is what you need!

THE WORKOUT!!!!

Today's workout was good although my disc stopped working at 18 minutes and instead of stopping and saying the heck with it I put in the cardio abs disc so I could continue to workout the time I missed on my other dvd...which I am having a new one sent soon.

It is funny man sometimes with the trainer on Insanity because he is like, "Doesn't that feel good?", and everyone on the video is like YES while I am yelling NOOOOOOOOO! Glad I PUSHED through and finished though! YOU can do it too!

TODAY'S FINDS

I viewed WEB Md's site today and it had some great snack ideas that are 100 calories or less.  Here are some that I liked:

  • 14 Almonds
  • Baked Apple topped with a little cinnamon
  • 6 whole grain pretzels
  • 8 baby carrots dipped in hummus
  • Smoked Salmon Pinwheels
  • Cottage Cheese and Cantaloupe
  • 3 whole grain crackers and string cheese
  • Jicama with fresh salsa
  • 1/3 cup Dry Oat Squares
  • ....and many other things.  I have attached the link to helpful websites on my page so click it and ENJOY!!! I was so inspired I had to go buy some of the things to add to my menu of snacks!

If you have any questions about what I bought and how I used it please leave a comment and let me know. Also, help me and others with variety by posting more snack ideas.

Until next time folks......Stay Active and try something new!!

Working out with soreness is good. It gets the lactic acid out faster and you are sore less!

  4. Good stuff, I should show you my grocery list from yesterday, I see we have some of the same items. I worked out this morning to Max Cardio. For breakfast I had a chocolate shakeology w/ a scoup of natural peanutbutter. A handful of mixed nuts for midday snack, organic veggis soup for lunch, apple and nuts for afternoon snack and I am not sure what for dinner yet. Keep up the good work!
